Watch as car spins into Edinburgh pavement after T-bone crash on busy road

A vehicle was captured on dashcam spinning towards an Edinburgh pavement at the Lasswade Road and Gilmerton Dykes Street intersection on Monday around 4.30pm.

Dashcam footage from an unimpacted vehicle shows the Lasswade and Gilmerton Dykes junction on Monday afternoon around 4.30pm.

In the video, multiple vehicles can be seen filing through the left hand turn signal opposite of south Lasswade Road. As the light is believed to change, vehicles from the righthand side of Gilmerton Dykes Street begin to accelerate through the junction.

The two vehicles are seen colliding into each other and the back end of one vehicle spins out of control as the car is last seen careening towards the pavement.

The out of control vehicle is off camera in the last few frames as the other vehicle sits stunned in the middle of the junction after the crash.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said:

“Around 4.25pm on Monday, 12 September, to a report of a road crash on Gilmerton Dykes Street, Edinburgh. Officers attended to assist and the drivers exchanged details.”
