Arsenal loanee Auston Trusty scored a sensational back-heel flick for Birmingham against Championship high-flyers QPR on Friday night.
A corner for the Blues after only three minutes at St Andrews was not fully cleared by the visitors, with the ball coming back in and audaciously flicked over goalkeeper Semy Dieng by Trusty.
The American defender, tipped to make his country’s World Cup squad, is on red-hot form in front of goal and now boasts three goals for his loan club after a brace past Bristol City earlier in the month.
“It’s a dream start for Birmingham City,” co-commentator Lee Hendrie said on Sky Sports. “[QPR] don’t deal with the corner.

“Trusty doesn’t know an awful lot about what he’s doing but he just helps it towards goal. It’s brilliant, it really is. I’m not sure he’s actually going for goal but it’s the right idea, back into the danger and Semy Dieng isn’t expecting it one bit!”
Arsenal signed the 24-year-old in January and immediately sent him on loan to Birmingham after he arrived from Colorado Rapids in the summer.
Birmingham defeated QPR 2-0 after Trusty’s goal and a first-half strike from West Ham loanee Emmanuel Longelo.
