At the 11:15 mark of the second quarter, Michigan State scored their first touchdown of the Jonathan Smith era. The touchdown increased MSU’s lead to 9-0, after the first points of the game came on a safety, and came courtesy of Smith’s No. 1 guy.
Spartan QB Aidan Chiles scampered from 11-yards out on third and three from the Owls 11, scoring the touchdown.
