Wasps and Wales flanker Thomas Young has been discharged from hospital following an injury he suffered during his club’s Heineken Champions Cup clash against Munster in Limerick.
Play was stopped for more than 10 minutes at Thomond Park on Sunday as Young received treatment following an apparent clash of heads with a Munster player, before being carried off and taken to hospital.
“Wasps can confirm that, following an injury sustained in yesterday’s Heineken Champions Cup game, Thomas Young spent the night at the University Hospital Limerick,” the Gallagher Premiership club said.
“After a series of scans last night and this morning he has now been discharged from hospital and will therefore be able to fly home with the club’s head of medical services later today.
“We would like to thank all at Munster Rugby and University Hospital Limerick for their care and support, as well as those within the rugby community who have reached out.”
Young, 29, won the last of his four Wales caps against Fiji in November, and he will join Cardiff next season.
