The NFL Draft is at the end of the month and the Arizona Cardinals have the 23rd selection of the first round. They could go a number of ways with their first-round selection.
Many would love to see the Cardinals go with a receiver, but they apparently have interest in a cornerback.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Cardinals are one of several teams, including the Bills, Saints, Ravens and Eagles, who are “all in” on Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie.
Mock drafts have McDuffie going anywhere from the middle of the first round to the second round.
McDuffie is 5-1 and 193 pounds with the requisite athleticism to be successful in the pros. He ran the 40 in 4.44 seconds at the combine. He added a 38.5-inch vertical leap at his pro day.
The Cardinals have a history of liking Washington defensive backs. They have safety Budda Baker, cornerback Byron Murphy and linebacker (former college safety) Zeke Turner, all who played collegiately at Washington.
He will be a player to watch on draft night. The Cardinals have three cornerbacks they like for the starting lineup, but you can never have enough quality cover guys.
McDuffie is viewed as one of the top cover corners in the draft.
He could end up bing the pick at No. 23 for Arizona.
