THE Uefa European Football Championship is now done and dusted, seeing Spain emerge as the victor after a dramatic final match against England.
Spain were the favourite to win the championship but England were able to equalise in the 73rd minute, throwing all of this up in the air.
But a goal from Mikel Oyarzabal (in the 86th minute) saw the Spanish take back the lead late and hold on the claim the Euro 2024 title.
Sadly, Scotland were unable to make their way out of the group stage after a disastrous result against host nation Germany and disappointing outcomes against Switzerland and Hungary.
However, despite this, many Scotland fans were quick to point out that despite a poor showing in the Euros, the country has secured a few excellent results.

Was Scotland the last team to beat Spain in a competitive football match?
Scotland was the last team to beat Spain in a competitive football match. This 2-0 victory occurred during the Euro 2024 qualifiers last year, with both sides clashing at Hampden in Glasgow.
Complaining about the defeat, the Spanish player Eric Garcia said: "We already saw that the grass was too long, and that cost us."
He added: "We can't make excuses for that, we have to look at ourselves and fix what we did wrong today."
A reminder that Scotland beat Spain in the qualifying for this very tournament, a defeat that the Spanish took so personally they decided to embark on a crusade to never get beat in a European championship ever again. You're welcome people of Spain. You're very welcome.

Scottish football fans were quick to brag about the victory after England's defeat with one user on X, formerly Twitter, writing: "BEATING SPAIN IS NOT FOR EVERYONE."
Another added: "A reminder that Scotland beat Spain in the qualifying for this very tournament, a defeat that the Spanish took so personally they decided to embark on a crusade to never get beat in a European championship ever again. You're welcome people of Spain. You're very welcome."
A third user noted: "Maybe it was always meant to be so that everyone in Scotland can tweet 'beating Spain isn’t for everyone' at the same time."
The only other time Spain have been beaten since their match against Scotland was during a friendly game with Colombia, which ended 1-0.
