What do you make of the Graeme Shinnie SFA ban row and was the appeal ‘frivolous’?
Michael Gannon: The tackle was unnecessary and probably a red these days. The extra game ban looks harsh but Aberdeen must have known they were on to plumbs with the appeal.
Andrew Newport: It’s a stick on red card under the laws of the game these days so for me, he was bang to rights. The extra game ban seems harsh, however. As ever common sense in short supply at Hampden.
Fraser Wilson: The red card was harsh so I completely understand the Dons’ appeal - particularly when there are similar cases which have been won. For the SFA to deem it frivolous and add an extra game on is a shocker.
Is the current Celtic side better than Brendan Rodgers' Invincibles?
Michael Gannon: There’s a fag paper between them. Ange Postecoglou’s side are up against a stronger Rangers but for 18 months the Rodgers crew were sensational.
Andrew Newport: Not yet. Rodgers’ squad was well on its way to a triple Treble by the time the Northern Irishman scurried off back to the Premier League. But if Ange’s side keep up their remarkable winning run they can make a strong claim for the tag.
Fraser Wilson: Equally swashbuckling and equally impressive. Ange Postecoglou has gelled a formidable team together but if you take talents like Kyogo, Jota, Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers on their individual merits then I think there’s more star quality to this side.
Should Steven Naismith have binned Robert Snodgrass at Hearts?
Michael Gannon: The man in charge has every right to call the shots but the entire situation at Tynecastle is a strange self-inflicted mess.
Andrew Newport: Time will tell. No doubt if the Jambos fail to claim third this will be a stick used to beat Naisy but there’s no denying Snodgrass had dropped off from the lofty standards he was setting in his early days at Tynecastle.
Fraser Wilson: To dump the most experienced member of the squad on day one in the job was ultra bold. Snodgrass’ form had dipped along with the team but surely you’d rather have his influence there for such a huge run of games. We await the player’s version of events with interest.
Who will make the top six out of St Mirren, Hibs and Livingston?
Michael Gannon: St Mirren and Hibs. They will both win today and Livi will be the unlucky ones, suffering a dip at the wrong time and running into an improving Dundee United on the final day before the split.
Andrew Newport: St Mirren look like a club on a role and should claim to a point they need at home to a Killie side who haven’t won away all season. Hibs have been up and down but should claim their slot in the top half against a St Johnstone outfit in free fall.
Fraser Wilson: St Mirren should be safe at home to Kilmarnock but Hibs and Livi both have seriously tough tests on the road and are erratic in their form. They could very well match each others results which means Hibs sneak it for me.
