Warzone Season 5 Reloaded roadmap: Black Ops Royale’s return, Loaded Resurgence, new camos

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Reloaded brings some new ways to play across Battle Royale and Resurgence. The mid-season update marks the return of Black Ops Royale. You can also jump into a Resurgence variant, earn new weapon camos, and use a new item to speed up redeployments.

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded releases on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at 9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST on all platforms. The mid-season update focuses on returning modes, new limited-time content, rewards, and additional ways to customize weapons.

Black Ops Royale returns

The Blackout-inspired Black Ops Royale mode removes several of Warzone‘s traditional features. There are no custom loadouts, buy stations, and Gulag, meaning squads must rely on what they find around the map.

Black Ops Royale now features enhanced objectives and dangerous areas containing hallucinated zombie hordes. There are only two ways to redeploy, adding another layer of strategy as squads decide when to take risks and when to play for survival.

Loaded Resurgence

Loaded Resurgence joins Warzone Season 5 Reloaded as the featured weekend limited-time mode. The mode supports 44 players across Rebirth Island, Haven’s Hollow, and Fortune’s Keep.

Unlike in standard Resurgence, you spawn with your custom loadout weapons from the beginning and retain access to them during redeploys. Perks work differently, however, as you can only earn them through eliminations. Getting enough kills unlocks the Specialist Perk, giving players a major advantage as the match progresses.

New camos via Special Delivery Drone

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded adds a new way to obtain weapon camos through the Special Delivery Drone. The rare drones can appear in both Battle Royale and Resurgence. Players who manage to bring one down have a chance to receive new weapon camos.

The Heavy Metal camo is available in Battle Royale and Battle Royale Casual on Verdansk and Avalon. Meanwhile, the War Machine camo is available in Resurgence and Resurgence Casual.

Quickdrop Kit

The Quickdrop Kit is a new Resurgence reward designed to get squads back into matches faster. The stackable item reduces your squad’s redeployment time, allowing you to spend more time in the match.

However, you first need to complete a Most Wanted Contract to earn it.

New weapons and attachments in BO7 Warzone Season 5 Reloaded

Season 5 Reloaded adds the Mace melee weapon to both Warzone and Black Ops 7. The update also introduces two new weapon attachments as weekly challenge rewards:

• RK-9 Calibrated Strike System (barrel): Combines a calibrated barrel with specialized bloom rounds, which expand during flight and deal maximum damage within a specific range. An indicator shows when players are inside the optimal range.
• Peacekeeper MK1 Gauss Accelerator (fire mods): Accelerates heavy metal projectiles. It also silently fires two projectiles at once and improves ballistics, but reduces handling and mobility.

BO7 Warzone Season 5 Reloaded events

• Last Call (available across BO7 and Warzone ): Features an event pass with both free and premium reward tracks. You can unlock rewards by simply hitting XP milestones.
• Warzone Ranked Series : Ranked Play event featuring 50-player leaderboards across all ranks. You can earn camos and emblems based on your leaderboard placement. Winning Ranked Play matches also provides additional rewards, including a new weapon charm and large decal.
