Warriors co-captain James Fisher-Harris is holding out hope a second New Zealand team will one day enter the NRL despite the league scrapping immediate plans for a 20th franchise.

As recently as last year, the NRL had flagged intentions to expand from 17 to 20 teams by next decade, with a second Kiwi team seen as a frontrunner to follow sides from Papua New Guinea and Perth.
