While all eyes are on the first round of the postseason, the framework for the 2022 NBA Draft is being built. On Monday, the league announced draft tiebreakers for teams picking outside of the lottery.
With the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors both holding 53-17 records, a tiebreaker set their pick for the 2022 NBA Draft. The Heat won the tiebreaker and were awarded the No. 27 pick, pushing the No. 28 overall selection to the Warriors.

After holding three picks in the lottery over the last two years, the Warriors will return to the back of the draft, where they have some experience at No. 28.
Since 2018, the Warriors have held the No. 28 overall selection twice. In 2018, the Warriors drafted Jacob Evans out of Cincinnati. Evans played 57 games with the Warriors before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In 2019, the Warriors landed budding star Jordan Poole. The Michigan Wolverines product has broken out in his third season with the Warriors. During the 2021-22 season, Poole is averaging 18.5 points on 44.8% shooting from the field with 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 30 minutes per contest.
In his first career playoff game, Poole caught fire against the Denver Nuggets, scoring 30 points. The 22-year-old followed his game one performance with 29 points in game two.
The 2022 NBA Draft is set for June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
