Joining his teammate Steph Curry, Draymond Green became one of the many members of the NBA community to celebrate LeBron James becoming the league’s new all-time scoring record.
With a historic jumper in the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, James made history. Following his tough fadeaway bucket over Kenrich Williams, the 19-year veteran passed Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s new all-time leading scorer. James now stands alone at the top of the NBA’s scoring ladder with 38,390 points and counting.
Green went to Twitter to congratulate his Team USA Olympic teammate for his latest historic achievement.

Going into Tuesday’s game, James needed 36 points to shatter Abdul-Jabbar’s record. The four-time Most Valuable Player finished the game with 38 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the floor with seven boards and three assists in 34 minutes. Despite James breaking the record, the Thunder played spoiler in a road win over the Lakers, 133-130.
Green and the Warriors will welcome the league’s new all-time leading scorer to San Francisco on Saturday night for a primetime contest at Chase Center. The Warriors are scheduled to meet the Lakers on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. PT.
