Warriors cruise to 2-0 in California Classic with 92-68 win vs. Lakers

After cruising to a blowout win over the Miami Heat in their California Classic opener on Saturday at Chase Center, the Summer League edition of the Golden State Warriors stayed hot on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors rolled to another dominant win against the Bronny James-less Lakers behind double-figure scoring numbers from three different players. Oregon State product Ethan Thompson led the Warriors with a game-high 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. Thompson notched a double-double with 11 rebounds to go along with four assists and two steals in 27 minutes.

Former Bowling Green forward Daeqwon Plowden continued his impressive Summer League start with 14 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes. Montas Rubstavicius added 12 points off the bench in Golden State’s 92-68 win against Los Angeles.

James Jr. was ruled out for the game at Chase Center on Sunday due to swelling in left knee. James Jr. made his Summer League debut on Saturday against the Kings at Chase Center.  James Jr. tallied four points in 22 minutes on Saturday.

Before heading to Las Vegas, the Warriors will play one final game of the California Classic on Wednesday against the Kings at 7 p.m. PT.
