The Golden State Warriors are being heavily linked with a potential move to acquire Paul George. The All-Star forward is expected to opt out of his player option for next season to hit free agency, which opens at 6 PM ET on Sunday (June 30). The Warriors face competition from the Philadelphia 76ers and LA Clippers.
According to former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins, who spoke on a recent episode of ESPN’s NBA Today, the Warriors could hold a slight advantage in pursuing George. He believes Steve Kerr’s team is the best fit for George’s skillset and could help him contend for a championship in the near future.
George has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons. As such, the Warriors should be cautious when deciding whether they want to add him to their rotation ahead of the new season. Nevertheless, when healthy, he would be a major upgrade on the wing.
