When getting ready for a holiday, it's important to make sure you have everything you need, including your passport and a comfortable outfit for the airport.
However, according to aviation expert Christine Negroni, it's also essential to consider the materials of your clothes, especially if comfortable leisure wear is part of your go-to travel outfit.
Negroni warns that non-natural fibers are more likely to burn and stick to your skin in case of an emergency. She recommends wearing clothes made of natural fibers, such as cotton, and avoiding synthetic fabrics.
Negroni also advises against taking off your shoes during a flight, as extreme temperatures during an emergency could cause harm to bare feet. Instead, she suggests wearing flat shoes like trainers and opting for tight-fitting clothes over loose-fitting ones.
Christine told The Sun: "You might have to escape through a cabin fire or there could be a separate fire on the ground once you leave the aircraft.
"Everyone is wearing yoga pants on planes now, but I avoid all artificial fibres because they are more likely to burn and stick to you if there is a fire."
