Warning as 82 children catch new 'tomato flu' virus that leaves painful red blisters

As the world emerges from the horror of Covid-19 and monkeypox gains a foothold worldwide, medics in India have warned of a new virus which infects children.

Known as tomato flu, the variant was first identified in May this year and so far 82 youngsters aged under five have caught the disease.

Named for the nasty red blisters which appear on the skin, tomato flu also causes high fever, rashes and intense joint pain.
