Yes, ‘immersive’ as a word is at a level of over-usage that make you want to vomit, but it really does apply to this film, which puts you into the thick of a Navy SEALs operation in Iraq in 2003, and is told in real-time. This is all hand-held cameras, tense close-ups, shuddering explosions and zipping bullets (sound design is never the sexiest of things to mention, but it is astonishing). You can practically smell the cordite.
