Workers at a major UK pallet warehouse in Trafford have been on strike for 19 weeks - making it one of the longest ongoing strike actions in the country at the moment.
The Unite union has accused CHEP UK of ‘failing its workforce in the middle of a cost of living crisis’, with workers in a dispute over pay. Staff based at Trafford Park have been on strike since the start of December after being offered ‘a below inflation pay offer’.
Union members recently renewed their mandate for strike action into the spring by a majority of 94 percent. Members previously said that while CHEP is currently ‘enjoying a boom time’, staff are being offered ‘in reality a severe pay cut’.
