A war crimes investigation into Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has started after Boris Johnson personally accused Vladimir Putin of committing atrocities over the missile strikes on cities.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) started an investigation on Wednesday evening after the UK and 37 allies referred Moscow over what the Prime Minister described as “abhorrent” attacks.
The move came as Ukraine’s capital Kyiv anticipated an onslaught, whilst the second city Kharkiv reeled from further strikes and the control of port city Kherson was contested by the Russian troops.
