Western Sydney's hopes of making back-to-back A-League Men finals series have suffered a significant blow with star import Marcus Antonsson sidelined for up to eight weeks.

The Wanderers said in a statement on Tuesday that the Swedish striker had sustained ligament damage to his foot during their 1-0 loss to Central Coast on Sunday.
