Every year, Walt Disney World Floral & Gifts provides thousands of bouquets and small presents to guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The in-house operation has become a staple of the Disney experience and is especially popular among those celebrating special occasions like birthdays and graduations.
Orders are placed in guests' hotel rooms before their arrival — a greeting meant to scream "Welcome to Disney World!" and help guests celebrate, according to Walt Disney World News Today.
In a shocking announcement this week, Disney Travel Agents announced the discontinuation of Walt Disney World Floral & Gifts.
The service is set to terminate on August 26 after more than 50 years of operation.
Guests will no longer be able to add bouquets or other gifts to their in-room amenities or travel packages booked through Disney itself.
Orders placed for before August 26 "may still be fulfilled," but those booked for after that date will be refunded.
Starting August 27, Disney is encouraging guests to order bouquets and presents through a third party vendor, Florida Fresh Floral, a company based in Central Florida.
Whether or not Florida Fresh Floral will create the same type of Disney-themed arrangements as their predecessor remains uncertain.
Some customers and former employees of Walt Disney World Floral & Gifts flocked to Twitter following the announcement to express their opinions regarding the cancellation.
"Although expensive, we used them many times and were well received. I'm sure to be underwhelmed by what's to be offered next," Tweeted user @VinceG222.
"As a former designer for Disney Floral and Gifts designing for Fairytale weddings/and general ID/magical celebrations, the level of service can’t be matched," wrote user @missangiej_. "The things we did blew my mind."
Not all comments seemed in favor of Walt Disney Floral & Gifts, however — some appeared indifferent about the service's discontinuation.
User @Bryce_DeShazo wrote, "It was never worth the price anyways. Maybe this be vendor will be reasonable."
"Never was worth the price," Tweeted user @Millionaire2K.
