A person has sustained multiple injuries after plunging down one of the UK's highest waterfalls this weekend in Dumfries and Galloway.
A huge emergency services operation was sparked to rescue the injured person from Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall in Moffat at 10.30am on Saturday, January 14.
Scottish Ambulance Service helicopters were at the scene and extracted the casualty from the freezing water. They were then raced to a major trauma centre after medics assessed they had multiple injuries sustained from a "significant" fall into the upper section of the waterfall.
