Commentator Martin Tyler has apologised for an on-air gaffe while commentating on Sunday's World Cup play-off final between Wales and Ukraine.
The hosts ended their 64-year wait for a World Cup finals appearance with a 1-0 victory at Cardiff City Stadium, against a Ukraine side still feeling the effects of the ongoing Russian invasion back home.
It's a backdrop that saw Tyler land himself in hot water, after saying on Sky Sports Ukrainian goalkeeper Heorhiy Bushchan would 'soldier on' after picking up an apparent ankle problem trying to punch the ball away.
Tyler later apologised for his misjudgement, but not after his comments were picked up on social media.

One fan said: " Martin Tyler just said a Ukrainian player who'd received treatment would "Soldier on." Wow. Retire', while another added: "Martin Tyler just said a Ukrainian player will "soldier on" and apologised as soon as he said it."
Welsh fans were left further disgruntled on social media after Tyler seemingly made a tenuous link to England and their 1966 campaign.
One fan wrote: "Martin Tyler commentating on the Wales game crowbars this belter in: “Don’t think there’s been an A. Ramsey at the World Cup since 1966.” A classic of the genre."
Wales went on to win the game courtesy of Gareth Bale's deflected first-half free-kick, which was later given as a Andriy Yarmolenko own goal.
They will take their place in Group B alongside the USA, Iran and England in Qatar.
