Wales players and fans stay behind to sing national anthem in stunning moment of togetherness despite World Cup exit

When it was all said and done, there was only one thing left to do.

Wales had been beaten 3-0 by England and the World Cup was over following three distinctly disappointing performances. After 64 years of waiting this wasn't how it was meant to be.

But, with the the English fans having all but left the stadium, the Welsh players stayed on the pitch and the Red Wall remained rooted in their seats. After the applause and the thanks came a remarkable moment of togetherness as a stunning rendition of the Welsh national anthem boomed out of the stadium in Qatar.

This wasn't a time for recriminations. It was a time for a moment of togetherness.

The entire Wales squad lined up in front of the stands, along with the team's coaches and staff. Despite music being played in the stadium as fans exited, the noise created from the anthem rang loud around the ground.
