Wayne Hennessey 5
Made a reaction, point-blank save from an errant Rodon header early on. Couldn't do much when Tim Weah lofted the ball over him. A couple of dicey punched clearances later on got the pulses racing a bit.
Connor Roberts 6
We are so used to seeing him marauding up the pitch but rarely got past the halfway line in the first half. Miles better after the break, bombing on and helping Wales turn the tide.

Chris Mepham 6
Booked for a shove on Christian Pulisic but was generally pretty organised. Kept the dangerous Pulisic in check all evening. A job well done.
Joe Rodon 4
Got pulled out of defence for Tim Weah's goal and almost put one in his own net with an early header. Unusually shaky in possession, too.
Ben Davies 6
A typically solid Ben Davies display. Had a superb flying header tipped over the bar in the second half. Made a couple of crucial blocks and interceptions which went under the radar.
Neco Williams 6
During an awful start for Wales he was the player most likely to get them up the pitch. Tim Weah did cause him some problems and he played him onside for his goal. Had far more joy in attack in the second half.
Ethan Ampadu 6
Another who was unusually guilty of giving up the ball once or twice early on. Was more involved in the second half and put his body on the line with some crunching tackles. Really grew into it after a couple of nervy early moments.
Aaron Ramsey 4
A lot of hope was pinned on him but he was anonymous at the start, with the balls just not sticking to him. Another who benefitted from Wales being more attacking after the break.
Harry Wilson 5
Like his midfield compatriots above, struggled to really impart anything on the game before the break. His set pieces became more of a weapon after half time.
Gareth Bale 6
Can scarcely remember him touching the ball in the first half, except for when he got booked for a tackle from behind. Just looked a yard off the pace. But then, crucially, won that penalty and dispatched it emphatically.
Daniel James 5
Wales tried to use his speed but he struggled to make much of an impact without the focal point of Kieffer Moore alongside him. Pulled at half-time for Moore to come on.
Subs
Kieffer Moore (James 45) 7 ( Star man ) - Changed the game for Wales with his introduction. Got them on the front foot and brought forwards into play. Has to start the next game.
Brennan Johnson (N Williams 79) 6 - Freshened things up on the wing late on in the piece. Had one decent shot saved.
Sorba Tomas (Wilson 90) NA
Joe Morrell (Ampadu 90) NA
