Wales international Dafydd Howells showed his Test class as he ran in four tries for Abercrave in their 40-24 home victory over Abercarn.
The former Ospreys and Dragons player has stepped down from Ebbw Vale in the Indigo Welsh Premiership to play at amateur level for his home town club in the Division Three West Central in the Admiral Leagues.
Saturday was Abercrave's final friendly of the summer.

Capped twice by Wales as an 18-year-old on the tour to Japan in 2013, Howells looked a grade apart against Abercarn with his pace, strength and finishing ability helping him to a double-brace of touchdowns.
He told WalesOnline just days earlier he now has a full-time job with Tata Steel, adding: “Playing at those higher levels with all that goes with it isn’t what I want any more.
“I’ve done it for so long that my feelings for it just dwindled away.
“I thought I’d try something else and it’s great.
"It's purely for enjoyment.
"Abercrave are a great club, with great people on and off the field, and it means a lot to be playing for them again.” You can read the full story of why Daf Howells made his call here.
Division Three East Abercarn made a fight of it in the encounter at Plas Y Ddol.
But, ultimately, Abercrave won with something to spare on the scoreboard after a six-try performance that should please the coaches.
The club where it all started for former Wales prop Adam Jones open their league campaign with a trip to Aberavon Green Stars on September 3, while Abercarn start with an away encounter at Llanhilleth.
