Shares of heavy engineering products and EP&C services provider Walchandnagar Industries rose 2% to Rs 228.95 on the BSE on Friday after the company announced receiving an order worth Rs 30.53 crore from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).
According to a regulatory filing on the BSE, the company was awarded the order by VSSC for fabrication, proof pressure testing and supply of HS200 Motorcase Segments for Gaganyaan.
The order is to be completed over a period of four years, according to the filing.
All three segments of HS200 are expected to be supplied by Walchandnagar Industries for Gaganyaan. The required raw material will be provided by Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre as Free Issue Materials (FIMs), the filing stated.
Walchand Industries had reported net profit of Rs 1.18 crore for the June quarter of FY26, as against net loss of Rs 10.39 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Shares of Walchandnagar Industries have gained over 3% in the past three months but declined 6% over the last six months and more than 8% so far in 2026. Over the longer term, the stock has delivered nearly 19% returns in three years and more than 40% over the past five years.
About Gaganyaan
Last month, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had successfully carried out three major tests of the Gaganyaan crew module systems. In addition to that, the Department of Space has revised the authority and procedure for accepting voluntary retirement and resignation requests from ISRO's Group 'A' Scientific and Technical personnel, directing that such requests from scientists associated with the Gaganyaan mission and other important national projects should not be accepted as a matter of routine.
