After a Grammy Awards joke, Donald Trump just vowed to “have some fun” with comedian Trevor Noah. But his fun comes with lawyers attached, as always.
On Feb. 1, 2026, comedian Trevor Noah hosted the 68th Grammy Awards, where his jokes briefly touched on higher-profile scandals. Obviously, that involved Trump. After announcing Song of the Year, Noah quipped that the prize was “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland.” He added, “which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
The remark played off the recent disclosure of millions of pages of Epstein’s documents, in which Trump’s name appears overwhelmingly. After the show aired, Trump took to Truth Social on Feb. 2, 2026, blasting the Grammy Awards as “virtually unwatchable” and CBS as lucky not to carry “this garbage” any longer.
Trevor Noah hit a sore spot for Trump
In his post, Trump singled out Trevor Noah, calling him “whoever he may be,” a “total loser,” and a “poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.” Trump claimed Noah said incorrectly that he and former president Bill Clinton “spent time on Epstein Island,” writing,
“WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close.”
He then warned Noah to “get his facts straight fast” and added, “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue him for plenty $.” Sir, you just sued the IRS for $10 billion. Just how much money would fill your grumpy tummy? But he didn’t stop at just the lawsuit threat, he had to sprinkle his signature creepy comment in there:
“Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Uh, “fun?”

Trump’s reaction did not come in a vacuum. The release of millions of pages of Epstein-related files by the DoJ on Friday has renewed public attention on Trump’s association with Epstein. In fact, the fresh batch of files include his name more times than a thousand times. Of course, not in a good light.
Noah’s joke was just a minute of the long night where artists used the platform to make political statements. He wasn’t the only one who criticized Trump. But because it was an Epstein-linked jab, it drew a furious response from Trump. Why didn’t he defend himself against other jokes? We all can guess the answer.
So far, Trevor Noah has not publicly responded to Trump’s threats. At the ceremony itself, he acknowledged it was his last time hosting and quipped to the crowd, “Oh, I told you, it’s my last year. What are you going to do about it?” So whatever fun Trump might want to have, he cannot threaten his career.
