The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has everyone talking, as filmgoers and critics are at odds about how good it is. Now, amidst the chatter of a shared universe movie and plans for Glen Powell's Fox McCloud, quite a few people are talking about hearing what's presumably an accidental f-bomb.
The moment in question is making rounds over on X, after a Luma tracks down Princess Peach. The original line seems to be "Princess Peach, I finally found you," but because of the way it's voiced, it sounds like the voice actor says the f-word in the first part of "finally." Reactions are pouring in after people see the movie, with many of them commenting on the moment:

This whole situation feels like that "Yanny" and "Laurel" debate from a long time ago, or what happened with Toy Story 3. A viral clip alleged that Ken dropped the f-bomb as Barbie was tearing his clothes, but people heard "Oh, Barbie," which was the intended line.
This is to say, I highly doubt The Super Mario Galaxy Movie wanted to risk another billion-dollar box office all to have a random Luma drop a swear. That said, as someone who has seen the clip a number of times, I can confidently say I hear the f-bomb every time, and do agree with one of the previous commenters above that it seems the editing team missed a voice actor flubbing a line.
We'll see what Nintendo and Illumination do about this, if anything at all. Hollywood now has the capability to change movies while they're currently in theaters, as evidenced by the disastrous first release of Cats.
It may just slide under the radar, but I can't imagine Illumination likes the idea of word quickly spreading that their big movie may have one of the worst swears a child can say in polite society.
The Super Mario Galaxy is available to see in theaters right now, and I know I'm making an effort to try and see it this Easter weekend. I would love to get there and snag one of those awesome Yoshi popcorn buckets, but given how popular they are, I may be dropping an f-bomb at the concession stand after hearing they're sold out.
