The so-called "Wagatha Christie" trial between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy has finally come to a close, after a judge ruled in favour of Mrs Rooney.
In a viral social media post in October 2019, Mrs Rooney, 36, said she had carried out a "sting operation" and accused Mrs Vardy, 40, of leaking "false stories" about her private life to the press. The wife of former England star Wayne Rooney publicly claimed Mrs Vardy's account was the source behind three fake stories she had posted on her private Instagram account.
Mrs Vardy, who is married to Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, denied leaking the stories and sued her fellow footballer's wife for libel, while Mrs Rooney defended the claim on the basis her post was "substantially true".

Today (Friday), Liverpool-born boxer Natasha Jonas has come out in support of Coleen. Taking to Twitter, she said: "There's isn't a Scouse female on this planet who hasn't got Coleen's detective skills.
"Once Vardy went in the girls group chat, Coleen had won. 5 of her mates got Scuba diving quals, 2 got encoding certs and 1 had been a private eye for the last 6 months. Congrat" [sic]
TV personality Lizzie Cundy also threw her weight behind Mrs Rooney. Speaking to Sky News, she said: "I always said from the beginning that Coleen would win this". She added that Coleen would not have tweeted publicly unless she was "100 percent sure it was her".

Sunetra Sarker exclaimed: "Coleen can walk out with her head held high but I feel like it's a one up-man ship but there's no winner." She added: "There really is no true winner is there?" as she posed a question to the rest panel. To which Judi Love spoke out about how this case has made her feel sad for all involved.
