The Vuelta a Espana 2026 is underway with another gruelling, mountainous edition of the year’s final - and often, most unpredictable - grand tour.

Tadej Pogacar had led the race by nearly four minutes before the six-time grand tour winner crashed out late on stage eight, blowing the race wide open.
