Glaswegians couldn't believe their eyes after a swarm of sharp-suited Minions fans descended onto the streets on their way to see Minions: The Rise Of Gru.
This unusual trend sparked a flame on TikTok, after hundreds of videos have gone viral of groups of teenage boys wearing prom or wedding attire to see the newest addition to the Despicable Me franchise. This has resulted in people even being banned from cinemas across the UK, due to the sheer disbelief of some cinema staff members.
Earlier this week, Glasgow Live reported that one TikTok that went viral on this trend included a group of s54 tudents standing outside the city's Royal Concert Hall, before making their way to Cineworld on Renfrew Street.

Taking to the comments section of the now viral TikTok people were all for the Glasgow student's attire.
One said: "I went yesterday. I’m not even kidding, the whole cinema cheered and applauded when Gru came on screen."
Another added: "I do not know what this trend is and I am scared."
"People make Glasgow" commented a third.
But one cinema chain that has jumped on the trend train too has been Vue Cinemas, who have created special 'Gentleminion' screenings for those who want to look the part when seeing their favourite yellow creatures. In a public social media post, the cinema franchise wrote: "We're putting on special Gentleminion screenings of Minions: The Rise of Gru, where you can enjoy the full experience of being a Gentleminion.
"So suit up. Bring your friends. Be Gentleminionly. Everyone is welcome, whether you're 14 or 44, Minion or human, but please note that these sessions may include crowd participation and general, obvious levels of enjoyment."
The viral trend has not gotten suited-up fans banned for their attire, but the behaviour executed by those filming the TikToks to gain popularity online. The disruptive behaviour during the family-friendly film has now lead to cinemas across the UK enforcing a ban on suits as well as other banning people going to see the film without an adult present with Odeon also saying it had "restricted some access".
A spokesperson for Odeon cinemas told the PA news agency: "Due to a small number of incidents in our cinemas over the weekend we have had to restrict access in some circumstances."
But now, Vue Cinemas have created a safe space for those who want to experience the new Minions movie in all its glory, suited up and excited to see the main man Gru. Will the other cinema franchises follow suit?
You can book tickets to see Minions: The Rise of Gru right here. More information can be found on the Vue Cinema website here.
