The weekend is finally here, and many Monday to Friday workers will be looking to make up for the time spent in an office all week while the sun has been beaming down across the North East. Some might go on a routine trip to the beach with friends and family, while others might opt for a quiet picnic in the park.
Others meanwhile, will be heading straight to their local pub to make the most of a beautiful and bolstering beer garden - supping pints in the sun while relaxing in the company of like minded people. And while everyone will no doubt have their own personal favourite to make the most of this weekend, some might be looking for somewhere new to explore altogether.
It could be the scenic Free Trade Inn which overlooks the serene Quayside in Newcastle, or maybe you like the old-school no-nonsense set-up at Sunderland's City Vaults? Maybe you're a fan of the hustle and bustle of Seaburn's Stack outlet, or a relaxing tipple at Tynemouth's Surf Cafe?
