Vondrousova books Adelaide quarter berth

Marketa Vondrousova is the first women into the Adelaide International 1 quarter-finals after cruising past Kaia Kanepi.

The 2019 French Open finalist won 6-0 6-4 on Wednesday morning and will play either second seed Aryna Sabalenka or Liudmila Samsonova for a spot in the final four.

The 23-year-old Czech talent is returning from wrist surgery and began her year with a comeback first-round defeat of No.8 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Bianca Andreescu will play Veronika Kudermetova later on Wednesday while top seed and world No.2 Ons Jabeur is still lurking at the top of the draw.
