Volvo has given three of its most familiar models a mid-life makeover, with the XC40 and all-electric EX40 and EC40 pair all getting fresh styling, a bigger infotainment screen and a major upgrade to their safety and driver-assistance tech.
The changes are designed to keep Volvo’s compact 40-series models fresh, with the updates stretching well beyond the usual new wheels and paint colours. There are changes to the bodywork at both ends, a new generation of sensors and cameras, Google’s Gemini AI assistant built in and a revised interior with more trim choices.
