Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews divided over family plans as star addresses marriage split speculation

Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews appear to be divided over whether baby number five could one day be on the cards.

The couple, who are already parents to Theodore, seven, Gigi, five, and Otto, four, announced they are expecting their fourth child together last month.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Matthews hinted he would happily continue expanding their family.

“I like the sound of baby number five,” he said.

“Vogue's Irish, you see. It won't be too long before she wants a fifth, I'm sure of it. I can't wait!”

But Williams appears far less convinced.

The couple recently discussed the possibility of another child on the Vogue and Amber podcast, where the presenter firmly shut down the idea.

After a listener joked she could “save the crazy names for baby five”, Williams replied: “There is no baby number five - no, no.”

“I can't... even people are like, ‘Oh congrats’, like looking at me like I'm a complete weirdo having a fourth child, they're like, ‘Jesus Christ, give it a rest would you?’” she added.

“So no, there won't be any baby number five because I don't think I'd be up for it.”

The differing comments come after Williams recently opened up about the toll persistent rumours surrounding her marriage have taken on the couple.

The TV star, who has been married to Matthews for almost eight years, revealed she was left deeply upset by repeated speculation suggesting their relationship was in trouble, particularly while the pair were privately trying for another baby.

Appearing on Great Company, hosted by Matthews’ close friend Jamie Laing, Williams said rumours intensified while the pair were buying a new house and holidaying in St Barths before publicly announcing the pregnancy.

“And even when we are on holiday there, in St Barths, we hadn't announced our pregnancy yet, it was like: ‘Oh, they're making amends on this holiday.’ Making amends from what? Where has that come from?” she said.

“That really upset me. I don't want my baby being born and growing up and reading something like that.”

Williams and Matthews first met while competing on The Jump in 2017.

The couple announced they were expecting their fourth child earlier this year while on holiday in the Caribbean.

Following the announcement, Williams also revealed she had previously suffered two miscarriages, one before the birth of Gigi and another last year.

Reflecting on the experience, she admitted she initially found herself asking “why me” before realising how common miscarriage is.

“You see your body fail you, you feel on your own,” she said. “You think, ‘why me, why me,’ but why not you? It happens all the time.”
