Vizianagaram: Two teachers accused of inappropriate touching

VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizianagaram district officials suspended two teachers on Wednesday for allegedly inappropriately touching girl students at the government primary school in Balesu village in Gummalakshmipuram mandal.

The action was taken after a video emerged on social media on Wednesday in which several girl students were seen explaining how the teachers inappropriately touched them and made them uncomfortable.

The two include the headmaster and another teacher. After coming to know about the incident, local women also rushed to the school and enquired into the incident.

Deputy chief minister and tribal welfare minister spoke to the district officials and asked them to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.

Vizianagaram district collector A Surya Kumari suspended the two teachers. She directed the police department to book a case against the accused under the Pocso Act.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
