VISAKHAPATNAM: Saif Seas, a Vizag-based tech startup, has been making waves with its unmanned, remote-controlled beach rescue device that can save people from drowning in the sea. For its innovative technology, the robotic watercraft has recently won a patent from the Union government with the assistance from the National Research Development Corporation Visakhapatnam outreach centre.
These water rescuers can be swiftly sent to the aid of the panicking victim in the sea. The drowning people can hang onto the buoy, which can travel at a maximum speed of 30 kilometers, or cling onto the belt attached to the craft as they will be safely pulled to the shore.
