Virtu Tops Q4 Consensus Backed By Higher US Equity Trading Volume; Declares Dividend

  • Virtu Financial Inc (NASDAQ:VIRTreported a fourth-quarter FY21 revenue growth of 4.3% year-on-year to $705.6 million, beating the consensus of $367.3 million. Higher trading volumes in U.S. equities drove the increase.
  • Adjusted Net Trading Income increased 6.5% Y/Y to $485.6 million, Market Making segment revenue rose 7.3% Y/Y to $567.5 million, and Execution Services segment revenue reduced 6.2% Y/Y to $140.3 million. 
  • Adjusted EBITDA margin contracted 780 bps to 67.6%.
  • Non-GAAP EPS of $1.19 beat the consensus of $0.80.
  • Virtu held $1.1 billion in cash and equivalents.
  • Dividend: The board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.24 per share, payable on March 15, 2022, to shareholders of record on March 1, 2022.
  • Price Action: VIRT shares traded higher by 7.18% at $34.40 on the last check Tuesday.
