Raheem Sterling became the latest high-profile signing of the summer transfer window, completing a intriguing move to Chelsea yesterday evening.
The former Liverpool winger has joined Gabriel Jesus in seeking pastures new, away from the Etihad Stadium, by joining a top six rival in the process. Arsenal and Chelsea will both hope for improved seasons next term, though closing the gap to Manchester City and the Reds is likely to remain a tall order for all concerned.
With Calvin Ramsay, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho added to the ranks during the summer transfer window, Liverpool are ready to attack another campaign and will have high hopes of enjoying more success in 2022/23. It is unlikely that further signings will be witnessed between now and the start of the new Premier League season, though players across Europe continue to be linked with a move to Merseyside.

Aston Villa are facing a battle on their hands to convince 18-year-old midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka to remain at the club as he enters the final year of his contract. The teenager made 12 Premier League appearances last season after making his first-team breakthrough the previous campaign.
Liverpool have previously been linked with the youngster, though Arsenal and Manchester United are claimed to have joined the race to sign the promising youngster. Outside of England, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Juventus are also said to be keeping tabs on Chukwuemeka.
Steven Gerrard recently revealed the European Under-19 Championship winner with England had not been included in Villa's pre-season squad, with a breakthrough in negotiations yet to arrive.
"Carney’s yet to sign a contract offer that’s been in place for some time now, so I’ve decided that the best thing for him would be to continue his training programme back at Bodymoor," the Reds' legend said.
