Virgil van Dijk wants his Liverpool centre-back partner Joel Matip to extend his stay at the club beyond 2024.
Matip has been in terrific form this season for the Reds, who just missed out on the Premier League title after winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and will now turn their attention to Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris.
The former Cameroon international staying injury free has been a major reason behind the stellar campaign - with Liverpool losing just three of their 62 games across all competitions.
Van Dijk knows just how good Matip is and he is keen to see his fellow defender stay at Anfield for the rest of his career.
“I want him [Matip] to sign a new deal by the way," Van Dijk told the Redmen TV . “I want him to stay here for the next 10 years.
“I’m just so glad he’s had a season with no injuries so he can show who he is.”
