KOLKATA: It's difficult to say whether Jos Buttler picked up a thing or two from Sunil Narine's innings as he watched the West Indian hit his maiden ton in any format of the game at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday. But there's some similarity in the way the two centurions went about their jobs in the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals IPL match.
The Royals benefited a lot from the impact player rule being introduced in IPL in 2023. Without it, they might have missed Buttler for Tuesday's game. The Englishman, who missed the last match with a foot injury, not only returned as an impact sub, but also took the side home in a thrilling run chase.
