Viral Terry's Chocolate Orange hack divides opinion on TikTok

A video highlighting a potential use for the plastic inside a Terry's Chocolate Orange box has split opinion online. TikTok user Neil Adams posted a clip on the popular video-streaming service that left some viewers astounded and others shrugging with indifference.

The 38-second clip, which has attracted more than 503,000 views since being uploaded, shows Neil opening the packaging and pulling out its plastic innards. Many fans of the famous confectionary will have most likely discarded of the plastic over the years, assuming it's purpose was simply to stop the spherical chocolate snack from rattling around inside its cardboard box.

But the clip demonstrates how it can actually be used as a display to make for a more convenient eating experience. In the video, captioned "Chocolate orange display", the TikToker folds either sides of the plastic to create a stand.

Text across the video states: "I was today years old when I discovered this feature." The plastic packaging acts as a handy stand for the chocolate segments which eliminates the annoying task of having to scramble inside the box for a tasty treat.

"Nom, nom, nom," Neil added as he nabbed a section of the chocolate to eat. Some users registered their shock that they'd never worked out the purpose of the plastic.

Red exclaimed that the hack was "genius". And Alex commented: "OMG that is epic, I love Terry's"

But others were much less impressed. Linda Newell350 simply wrote: "I think you got too much time on your hands." And Mark Waddington questioned: "But why would you want to display a chocolate orange?"

Meanwhile, numerous commenters chimed in to say that although the hack was a nice idea, the speed at which they generally scoff the round snack rendered the display irrelevant. Poppy Whitefoord said: "Who keeps a Terrys Chocolate Orange long enough to display it?"

Angiepangie2809 agreed, adding: "Yeah, but I wanna eat it, not look at it." And Bikegirl wrote: "Display? Why would u show people u got the good stuff, bang it n eat it then hide it"
