A violent, broad-daylight brawl has sparked a police probe in Edinburgh.
Officers were called to Queensferry Street Lane just after 5.30pm on Saturday.
Footage shared with our sister title, Edinburgh Live, shows two men punching a third man near a driveway.
Horrifying clips show one man, wearing jeans and a t-shirt, cowering into the corner of the driveway.
A second man, wearing a body warmer grey tracksuit bottoms, punches the first man and ricochets his head off a wall.
After delivering several blows to the victim's head, another smaller man, dressed in black Adidas joggers and a black hoodie, comes in and sucker punches the victim again, causing his head to crash against the entrance once more.
Three women are also seen in the video, with two of them attempting to stop the altercation, however a woman in colourful red trousers and a blue jacket, claimed the victim had it coming.
She is heard shouting: “You were due it, you were f**king due it!”
Another woman added: “Are you happy now you have all smashed each other's faces in now?”
It is not known what caused the altercation amongst the group but the footage was captured by a concerned local.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 5:35 pm on April 23 to reports of a disturbance on Queensferry Street Lane Edinburgh.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
On Sunday morning police revealed that when officers arrived at the scene there was no disturbance and nothing was reported thereafter.
A spokeswoman said: "When officers attended there was no disturbance ongoing and no reports of criminality made."
