‘Violent abuser’ who made victim ‘bark like dog’ found hiding in fridge

A "violent abuser" from Rochester who locked his victim in a room and would only let her out after making her bark like a dog tried to escape justice by hiding in a fridge.

Dean Foord, 33, of Brooker Close, Rochester, was arrested after his victim reported the mental and physical abuse she had endured over 6 months.

He controlled her social media accounts, made her cut off contact with friends and family, and allowed her to leave the house only when he permitted it.

On one occasion, Foord dragged her by the neck, pushed her to the floor, and banged her head into the ground.

Following a trial, Foord was found guilty of actual bodily harm, criminal damage, threats to kill, common assault, controlling and coercive behaviour, and possession of a class A drug. He was jailed for three years on Tuesday, 30 June.
