Violence Erupts At NYC Migrant Shelter, Two Arrested

Aftermath of a wave of violence in Ecuador

A 25-year-old man was reportedly stabbed in the shoulder after being attacked at the Randall's Island migrant shelter in New York City. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed that the man was stabbed at the shelter by two of the shelter's residents on Friday evening at 8 p.m. The suspects, identified as brothers Josue Deleon, 19, and Moises Deleon, 27, were arrested and charged with assault.

According to local media reports, an altercation erupted between two groups at the shelter following a previous stabbing earlier that day. The relationship between the victim and the suspects remains unknown.

This incident is the latest in a series of attacks at the New York City migrant shelter. In April, five men were arrested for allegedly assaulting another man in his bed and injuring a security guard during a brawl. The suspects, aged between 20 and 33, were charged with third-degree assault and harassment.

In a separate incident in February, two other migrants at the same facility were arrested for assaulting a security guard in two separate altercations on the same evening. Police responding to a 911 call for the first assault witnessed the second attack as one of the migrants began assaulting the security guard while officers were present.
