Vince Vaughn And James Marsden's New Time Travel Movie Has A Delightful Scene Stealer I Was Not Expecting

Vince Vaughn and James Marsden in Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice.

Warning: SPOILERS for Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice are ahead!

I’m a sucker for time travel movies, so when I heard that the 2026 movie release Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice falls into that category, I fired it up with my Hulu subscription this past weekend. The time travel comedy certainly made for an entertaining watch, with Vince Vaughn, James Marsden and Eiza González all getting to shine both comedically and action-wise. That being said, it was actually an unexpected scene stealer that ended up being my favorite part of Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice.

How Jimmy Tatro Fits Into Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice

Jimmy Tatro, known from movies and TV shows like 22 Jump Street, Theater Camp, American Vandal and Home Economics, stars in Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice as Jimmy Boy, the adoptive son of Keith David’s Sosa, a ruthless crime boss. When the movie begins, Jimmy Boy has just finished a six-year stint in prison, as someone inside Sosa’s organization was an informant who sold him out to the police. So, amidst the celebration of Jimmy’s freedom, Sosa promised his son that by the end of the night, the man who betrayed him would be dead.

The problem is that the real informant died prior to the events of the movie, and the only man who knew his identity, Vince Vaughn’s Nick, framed James Marsden’s Nick for the betrayal because he’d been having an affair with his wife, Eiza González’s Alice. But as those who’ve seen Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, what’s supposed to be a night commemorating Jimmy Boy being a free man and getting revenge ends badly for him. However, his misfortune is preceded by some fantastic comedic moments for the viewer.

Jimmy Boy Has Some Of The Best Lines And Moments In The Movie

I was consistently cracking up at Jimmy Boy’s antics and one-liners during the positively-received Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. The first moment that stood out to me came when he was at one of the parties Sosa was holding for him, this one taking place at a club. When his dad asks him if he was enjoying the festivities, he answers, “Does Pooh Bear like honey?” That’s a fantastic line all on its own, but it becomes funnier when Sosa has no idea who Winnie the Pooh is. Then, when Sosa tells Jimmy that the guy who betrayed him will get his “comeuppance,” he’s confused because he doesn’t know what comeuppance means. Hilarious!

There are various other examples of Jimmy Boy’s funny moments, including a running gag where he’s unable to get sexually excited after having a conversation with Arturo Castro’s Dumbass Tony (A+ nickname, no notes) about how he was robbed of his “best dick years” in prison. However, I really lost it when, during the Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice ending, he hears that his dad is in danger and rushes off to save him.

Except, he decides to jump through a window while doing so, and thus ends up fatally injuring himself by getting impaled with glass shards, although Mike and Future Nick deliver the killing shots. There was absolutely no reason for Jimmy to do this, as he still arrived too late to help his dad. It was so incredibly stupid, but it had me laughing so hard.

If you’ve made it this far, yet haven’t seen Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, I still advise you to rectify that immediately. Jimmy Boy made the movie more enjoyable to watch, and if it wasn’t for his untimely demise, I would have gladly followed along with more of his misadventures. Don’t worry, buddy, at least you don’t have to deal with performance issues in the afterlife.
