Video platform provider Vimeo has announced the appointment of Philip Moyer as its new CEO and member of the board, effective April 8, 2024. Moyer, a senior executive at Google Cloud with a background in AI applied engineering and business development, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Adam Gross, who had been serving as Vimeo's interim CEO following the departure of Anjali Sud to Fox Corp.'s Tubi, will continue to be a part of the company's board. The chairman of Vimeo, Glenn Schiffman, expressed excitement about Moyer's appointment, citing his expertise as a strategic fit for leading Vimeo into the era of AI video.
Prior to joining Vimeo, Moyer held key positions at major tech companies. He most recently served as the global VP of applied AI engineering and business development at Google Cloud. Before that, he was the director of financial services at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and managed a venture-capital portfolio at Safeguard Scientifics.
Moyer also has experience as a CEO, having led two financial technology companies: Edgar Online and Cassiopae. His career includes a 15-year tenure at Microsoft, where he managed various global teams and services. Moyer holds a computer science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
