Vile death and rape threats have been sent in droves to a vegan activist known for her naked protests.
Tash Peterson is a prolific vegan activist whose protests have often seen her hauled to court and fined.
The 28-year-old Western Australian native shared some of the horrific threats she has received which include graphic and explicit death and rape threats.
She said she receives this level of abuse online on a near daily basis. One of the messages from a man read " You should try catching a moving bullet you stupid c***".
Another read: "Walk out in front of a moving train you ugly piece of s***." Other rape messages were too graphic to reprint.
One picture she posted showing the abuse was captioned: “There have been a few occasions where I've literally feared for my life, terrified to come home because I'd received a message from a man telling me that he was coming to rape and murder me..
“Most of these sick messages come from insecure men, but also some women as well. Calling me a s**t, skank, whore, disgusting, etc.”
Ms Peterson said she had been to the police a number of times to report death threats but said nothing was done and that their inaction was “shameful”.
She continued: “People are going to respond to this saying that I'm getting what I deserve, a taste of my own medicine.
“The truth is that I have NEVER called anyone derogatory names, threatened someone or abused someone. I am a non violent activist trying to stop violence, rape, abuse, torture, enslavement and murder of non-human animals in animal agriculture.”
Ms Peterson is known for her protests that has led to her being described as “Australia’s biggest pest”.
Her semi-naked demonstrations have taken place in designer stores, restaurants and supermarkets and landed her in hot water.
Last August, she marched topless through a Louis Vuitton store in Perth smeared in her own menstrual blood, which led to her being fined £2,000.
She’s also dressed up as a cow to protest in the meat section of supermarkets, conducted one-woman pitch invasions at sport events, and donned a blood-soaked apron to scream at KFC customers.
She also was put on trial for a December 2020 protest at the Boatshed Markets where she appeared topless, with her chest painted in a cow pattern, and she yelled at shoppers that cows were being raped for meat and dairy.
Along with her partner Jack Higgs, they were thrown out a supermarket for refusing to wear a face mask and claimed her “human rights” were being breached.
She later told The Daily Mail she had been caught “off guard” during the incident.
