The 2024 NFL season has gotten off to a good start for the Minnesota Vikings so far in their first game against the New York Giants. The offense has looked good behind new quarterback Sam Darnold, who started the game on fire, completing his first 12 passes in a row.
Unfortunately, it’s not all good news for the Vikings, as wide receiver Jordan Addison has been ruled out for the remainder of the game with an ankle injury. Addison was initially injured on a short pass when he appeared to get his ankle rolled up by Giants linebacker Darius Mausau.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media first broke the news of his injury, ruling him out.
Addison has had ankle issues during training camp, dating back to when the injury was initially suffered during a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns. With Addison out, it will be up to guys like Jalen Nailor to pick up the slack for the Vikings passing game.
It will be interesting to see how Darnold and the Vikings’ offense function the rest of the game with Addison now back in the locker room. We’ll have more information on Addison’s injury and any long-term effects as it becomes available. Stay tuned to The Vikings Wire for all your injury updates today and every game day.
