As the Minnesota Vikings look to improve to 7-1 against the 4-4 Washington Commanders, the final injury report is out and is heavier than most weeks.
The Vikings will have one more game missed by a starter but the Commanders are in worse shape.
The game, which kicks off at noon on Sunday, looks to be a competitive matchup but how will the injury report impact the game? Let’s break it down.
Vikings-Out
- DE Dalvin Tomlinson
This was likely once he was out of practice during the week. Calf injuries are tough to come back from and it is smart to take things slow. With Tomlinson out, expect to see more of Khyiris Tonga in his absence.
Vikings-Questionable
- CB Cameron Dantzler
- WR Jalen Nailor
Neither one practiced in full throughout the week until Friday when they both did. Nailor (illness) hadn’t practiced at all throughout the week while Dantzler was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Vikings-Off the report
- CB Camryn Bynum
- WR Adam Thielen
- OLB Za’Darius Smith
Bynum had a personal matter which is why he missed practice on Wednesday. Smith and Thielen both practiced in full the last two days. It’s no surprise that they came off the report as both returned to the game this past Sunday after injuring their knees.
Commanders-Out
- WR Jahan Dotson
- LB Cole Holcomb
- LB David Mayo
- RB J.D. McKissic
There was speculation that EDGE Chase Young would play on Sunday, but head coach Ron Rivera squashed that on Friday. The biggest loss is that of Dotson, which could lead to the Vikings double-teaming Terry McLaurin all game.
Commanders-Questionable
- DE Shaka Toney
Commanders-Off the report
- DT Jonathan Allen
- C Tyler Larsen
- TE Logan Thomas
- TE Cole Turner
